This review is for both the blueME HD Bluetooth receiver and the blueME Duo transmitter receiver. For my backyard sound system, I have wired speakers in the yard with the amp and equalizer inside. For music I use a phone or MP3 player plugged into the equalizer/amp. I got tired of having to go inside to change songs or volume levels. I needed a better way! I started with the blueME HD receiver. This allowed me to take theMP3 player outside. Unfortunately, the MP3 player did not have the Bluetooth range to play reliably. It kept having dropouts, some short and some really bad ones. Next, I added the blueME transmitter/receiver, used as a transmitter. Initially I did struggle slightly to get them paired up. Both of them only have one button and the pairing sequence must be done correctly. Once paired up, it worked well... really well! I have walked all over the back yard with the transmitter, and it has not had one single dropout. I have used it for about six sessions (one to two hours each) and the TX/RX pair have performed flawlessly! The sound quality is great and the Bluetooth connects easily. The blueME Duo is battery powered. So far, I put about 10-12 hours on it and the battery indicator is still showing 100% full. It seems like it will go quite a long time before needing a charge! I waited to do this review until I had put some hours on the transmitter/receiver pair because I wanted to know if it really was reliable. So far, I have not been disappointed! I would highly recommend both of these units!
My Blume duo works as advertised.
The sound quality and build quality are both great! The only change I would make, is it would be nice for the Duo to come on and automatically attempt a connection whenever power is applied. This would mean I could plug-in the unit to the switched outlet of my vintage receiver, and the Duo would cycle on/off with the receiver. (I also have a bluMe HD unit on my home theater and this unit in fact does that).
Sounds terrific even compared to my audiophile CD player. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for Bluetooth access on on a non- bluetooth receiver.
My BluMe Pro works so well, I am going to get the BlueMe Duo as well. Easy pairing with very good sound for my movies and music. There are no annoying artifacts in the sound like clicks or cutouts that I experienced with other Bluetooth products.
